Adam Levitt Named Co-Lead Counsel in Nationwide Class Action Against Polaris
Lawsuit Targets Manufacturer of Off-Road Vehicles That Caught Fire Due to Alleged Design Defect
MINNEAPOLIS, June 4, 2018 – A Minnesota federal magistrate judge has appointed Adam J. Levitt, partner at national plaintiffs’ firm DiCello Levitt, co-lead counsel in the ongoing class action against Polaris, a leading manufacturer of off-road vehicles. The lawsuit alleges that Polaris sold multiple models in its Ranger and RZR lines that suffer from a design defect that creates a significant risk of the vehicles overheating and catching fire.
The alleged defect has resulted in more than 250 fires, more than 30 severe injuries and at least three deaths. Since 2013, Polaris has recalled, at different times, the vehicles in question due to fire hazards, but none of the recalls addressed the root problem of the fire risk or effectively solved the problem.
“Polaris has exhibited a pattern and practice of putting profits above consumer safety, and with this lawsuit we are aiming to ensure, once and for all, that the company gets its priorities straight and provides class members the justice they deserve,” said Adam Levitt.
