Amy E. Keller Named Co-Lead Counsel in Equifax Security Breach Multidistrict Litigation

34-Year-Old DiCello Levitt Partner Among Youngest Attorneys Ever Appointed to Lead National MDL

CHICAGO, February 13, 2018 – Amy E. Keller has been appointed Consumer Plaintiffs’ Co-Lead Counsel in the massive Equifax Multidistrict Litigation. The much-publicized litigation stems from credit reporting firm Equifax’s ineffective handling of a massive data security breach last September that exposed the Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses and – in some cases – the driver’s license and credit card numbers of 145.5 million American consumers.

Keller, a partner of DiCello Levitt LLC in Chicago, joins fellow co-lead counsel Kenneth Canfield of Doffermyre, Shields, Canfield & Knowles LLC, and Norman Siegel of Stueve Siegel Hanson LLP, in representing plaintiffs across the country in the consolidated litigation against Equifax.

“It is an absolute privilege to assume a leadership position in this multidistrict litigation against Equifax,” said Keller. “Tens of millions of consumers not only had their lives turned upside down by this catastrophic data breach, but it came at the hands of a company that American consumers have trusted with their most important personal information for years. And while many have already suffered harm as a result of Equifax’s negligence, this is likely just the tip of the iceberg. There is no telling how many untold others will suffer damages from this breach down the road. These are the people for whom my co-lead counsel, Plaintiff’s Executive Committee and the remainder of the court-appointed leadership group, and I are committed to achieving justice.”

Keller, who at 34 years-old is among the youngest attorneys ever named to co-lead a major, national consumer MDL, helped launch national plaintiffs’ firm, DiCello Levitt, in April 2017, along with Co-Founding Partners Adam Levitt, Mark DiCello, and James Casey. Named a SuperLawyers “Rising Star” since 2016, Keller has litigated a wide range of product liability, consumer fraud, design defect, employment, and food labeling cases in courts across the United States.

The case is In Re Equifax, Inc. Customer Data Security Breach Litigation in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division.
