DiCello Levitt Makes International Headlines With $50 Million Recovery in East Cleveland Police Misconduct Case

Aug 12, 2019

A Cuyahoga County jury has awarded DiCello Levitt client, Arnold Black, $50 million from the city of East Cleveland. The eye-opening verdict stems from a 2012 arrest where Black was beaten by police and locked in a storage closet for several days. Mr Black was represented by attorneys Bobby DiCello and Justin Hawal, who shined a light on a pattern and practice of abuse, manipulation and coercion within the East Cleveland police department.

The verdict is already making headlines, as just the latest chapter in an ongoing, national conversation about policing tactics.
